Our cloud is growing again… Don’t worry, that’s a good thing! Our technical team has been hard at work, and we are pleased to share that we have added a new SAN to our in-house cloud!
A SAN is essentially a whole bunch of hard drives that are installed in a chassis, and the chassis is connected to our network, which is connected to our cloud. In the picture below, you can see the chassis.
This new SAN has the capacity to store up to 24 Terabytes of data:
- 24TB’s will hold approx. 48,000 hours of CD quality audio or approximately 822,857 songs
- 24TB’s will hold approx. 2,592 full length DVD quality movies
This new capacity allows us to create new servers and website hosting accounts in our cloud and be sure we always have enough storage when our clients need more space for their website hosting accounts.
